Rated 4 out of 5 by from The concept is great. I purchased the DoorCam because I live in an apartment and am not allowed to alter the property. I've had packages delivered and stolen from in front of door. Some of the issues I have with the product: There is a delay when getting notified of activity and when I go to view the video at the start for couple of seconds it's nothing but a black screen. The only time the camera is sufficient is if someone is standing at the door for couple of seconds. The video quality is not as clear as shown on website. I wish the camera was able to be adjusted to point directly at my door. Also the app keeps logging me off.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Overall I like the DoorCam. Installation was easy. I would like to see a few improvements (mostly software/firmware related, I think): - Some pre-buffering is needed for videos. Motion in the yard often triggers a video start, but by the time the recording starts, whatever was going by is long gone. - When I want to "answer" a motion alert, it takes a while (a number of seconds) for the camera to adjust exposure, collect data and begin showing the live video. This makes it less useful for a "doorbell replacement". - The ability to connect to the camera from the app to see live video (without a motion trigger) would be very helpful.

What I am not sure about is whether or not I can speak to somebody through this device or is it only good for recording images and sound? If I have any criticism it is the time lag between the sound, which comes on quickly, while the video takes a few more seconds. Consequently, when I turn on the device I hear a car pass by or somebodyХs steps a couple of seconds before the video appears. By that time the source of the motion triggering the camera may already be gone or in the process of leaving. The video needs to kick in much quicker but still it is a good product.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great Concept, But . . . I've had my DoorCam for nearly a year. It works--too well. Although the motion sensitivity is set on Standard, the notifications ring on my phone *dozens* of times per day. I live on a quiet suburban street with a 30-foot setback and not much traffic. Everything sets it off: every passing car, every pedestrian and dog-walker. Often, NOTHING is out there. My home office overlooks the front yard and I look out whenever my phone alerts me. I'm going to turn sensitivity to Low, but I tried this once before and then I received no notices. There must be a happy middle ground. I'd recommend this with reservations.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Basically, this has been a fantastic device. However, it is not perfect. I have two (2) issues / problems. 1 - connection reporting is slow. I have a +100 mb connection and see considerable lag between detection and notification. Your ad regarding ability to converse with detected visitors is GROSSLY over stated. This has never been possible. 2 - images routinely come through in shades of purple, not color and not black and white. This happens dawn, day, dusk and nite. No explanation of cause. As I said, we throughly enjoy this unit. It has been frequently used. Just wish report response was faster.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Thanks for asking. We like it. It seems to be working fine. We do get a lot of what I'll call false triggers. on windy days especially. It may be we don't understand how it works. When we check after hearing the sound that motion has been detected there's nothing there. I think what is happening is that the triggering event, like a passing car, is long gone and what we're viewing is a "live" shot of nothing. Same with viewing the video. There's nothing on the video because whatever triggered the camera is long gone. There is one thing that baffles us and that is why some videos can't be opened. We can tell something is there because it keeps blinking, but it can't be opened. What causes that?

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not my first choice! the only great feature of the doorcam is it hangs over the door. battery life runs fast especially in busy hallways. there is atleast a 7 second delay which might be pointless to have a security camera if not able to see from the beginning, noticed if a person keeps the head down it’s extremely hard seeing their face/features. also wifi connectivity lacks, i have twice reconnected to the wifi network. Unfortunately after purchase i had to go out of the country for 5 weeks, I was unable to return the product because of their 30 day return policy, so im stuck and lost my money. Don’t recommend for purchase.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from To be honest, I'm trying to sell it on an online garage sale. I used it for a few months, and was not very pleased with it. The motion detection was terrible, and even though it's a wifi battery-operated camera, and I know it take a second to activate, the device hardly ever activated when motion was there. I had someone in front of my front door for about 2 minutes and it never activated. I changed all the different settings and it still wasn't what I wanted in a camera. It's a great concept but it really needs to have a lot of issues fixed.

My remo keeps stopping, but does not say why(?). Batteries show only down 2 bars (still show all the rest green). Wifi shows good, so no clue?

Can I use rechargable batteries with my Doorcam? There is a lot of activity in my halfway and even at the lowest settings, the batteries only last a month or two.

I have a security type storm door on the outside that has glass in front of metal bars on it. Will this work with that ? I had to return a Ring doorbell. The wifi signal would not go through the brick and other materials.

I relate to light in my thinking of signals with glass being the most non porous of our home building materials plus glass is a champion reflector. Natural physics will not let light penetrate glass, we enjoy only the light’s reflection. The same for signals. We have improved the Remo+ Doorcam’s RSSI with an inexpensive wireless range extender, or also called ‘repeater’, that states the amount of sq. ft. that it will cover, the same brand as our router; connects easily and thoroughly. Porous wall building materials including brick will let enough of a strong signal through to your device mounted on brick or door frame wood/metal.  Remo+ also has a Doorcam 2 that will hang the camera/detector on the outside of a glass type door. I sure hope this helps and wishing you the best.

What if you have an iPhone but no WiFi? Can you use the camera but have no iCloud storage?

This device requires WiFi and an internet connection to work. You do not need iCloud to make it work but it does require a remo+ cloud subscription after the free 30 day trial to see and save videos.
